你为什么学习汉语？

前几天，我和我的上司淡话的时候，他问我：你为什么你学习汉语？

我们公司给我研修补助，所以我上司知道我现在在学习汉语。

我回答他：最近有很多中国留学生加入我们公司。他们日语说得非常流利，所以我们不会说汉语也没问题。但是，他们学习日语，我认为我们也应该学习汉语。

现在我没学好汉语，所以没有很多机会跟中国同事说汉语。下个星期我要和中国同事去喝酒。我想跟他们用汉语聊天儿。

Why Are You Studying Chinese?

Several days ago, when my boss and I were talking, he asked me, “Why are you studying Chinese?”

My company gave me a subsidy for study, so my boss knew that I was studying Chinese.

I answered him, “Recently, many Chinese students entered our company. All of them can speak Japanese very fluently, so we don’t have to speak Chinese. It’s not any problem. But they have studied Chinese, and I think that we should study Chinese, too.”

Now I have not mastered Chinese yet, so I have not had few chances to talk with them in Chinese. Next week my Chinese colleagues and I will go to drink. I will try to talk in Chinese.

なぜ中国語を勉強しているの？

数日前、上司と話していたとき、彼は「なぜ中国語を勉強しているの？」と尋ねた。

私の会社は、研修に対して補助費を払ってくれているので、上司は私が中国語を勉強していることをしている。

私は上司に次のように答えた。「最近、中国人の留学生がたくさん入社してきましたよね。みんな日本語が流暢だから、われわれが中国語を話せなくても問題はないです。でも、彼らは日本語を勉強したんだから、われわれも中国語を勉強すべきじゃないかなって思うんですよ。」

今はまだ中国語が上達していないので、中国人の同僚と中国語で話す機会はあまりない。来週、彼らといっしょに飲みに行くので、中国語で話してみよう。
