This Week NBA Final Will Begin

This Week NBA final will begin. It has been Cavs versus Warriors for three years. Two years ago, Warriors beat Cavs, and last year Cavs beat Warriors.

This year both are in good shape. Critics say, Warriors is better than Warriors, because this year Kevin Durant joined Warriors.

I am supporting Cavs, and I believe that Cavs has a chance to win Warriors. This year’s Warriors is awesome, but Cavs’ super star Lebron James is in great shape now, and he could do anything, even if it is impossible. I remember his miracle block shot in last year’s NBA final.

I cannot wait for watching NBA final, and I am looking forward to nice games.

“Let Me Eat” and “Let Us Eat”

Every Thursday morning, I watch a Chinese language educational program on TV. In this program, some Chinese people talk about Japanese culture and language. Last theme was the Japanese word that cannot be translate into a Chinese word.

Before having a meal Japanese people greet “いただきます.” “いただきます” means “let me eat.” In Chinese, there is no phrase before having a meal. If they need to say something, they say“吃吧,吃吧 (let’s eat).”

I am interested in the fact that Japanese point of view is at “I” and, contrary, Chinese point of view is at “we.”

Recently in Japan there is getting more people to eat alone. On the other hand, I remember that in China all family happily eat dinner together. Sometime I want to eat lunch quietly alone, and sometime I want to eat with all of family lively. I like not only Japanese way but also Chinese way.

www.wooozy.cn

Walking around Second Hand Record Shops in Tokyo

I tried hard to read this blog with a dictionary, because I was really interested in it.

“Seven Days Thirty Record Shops ― a Guide for Vinyl Records in Tokyo by a fan of Indies”
Early 1980s I was a high school student and I loved Western pop music. At that time, I listened to music through vinyl records and radio. Late 1980s record shops stopped selling vinyl records and started selling CDs. I sold my vinyl records and bought CDs.

Now, it is easy to buy vinyl records of 1960s or 1970s Western pop music at second hand record shops in Tokyo.

The time when Western pop music became popular is late 1980s, so there are no vinyl records of Western pop music but CDs, isn’t there? Fans of Western pop music cannot buy second hand vinyl records in China, can’t they? So, the author of that blog walked around second hand record shops in Tokyo.

Sometimes I also walk around second hand record shops that the author of that blog introduced. It is really fun.

I Will Take a TOEIC Examination, so Now I am Studying English in a Hurry

My friend will take a TOEIC examination. She invited me to take the examination together, and I agree her.

Recently I studied Chinese hard, but did not study English at all. The last time when I took a TOEIC examination, my result was really good, so I foresaw the next examination would also be easy and I did not have to study English. I tried to solve the questions of TOEIC, and my result was awful. I realized that my English was not so good and I had to study English hard.

One week after I will take a TOEIC examination, and now I am studying English in a hurry. This is a good occasion.

Please wish my good luck.

In “Golden Week” I Went Playing Golf

This week is Japanese “Golden Week.” Our company is off a whole week. This Tuesday my boss, colleagues and I went playing golf.

My father invited me to begin playing golf. Sometimes my parents and I used to go playing golf. Six years ago, the day of the East Japan Great Earthquake, I took a day off and with my parents and my wife went playing golf together. Recently my father has been getting old, so he has not wanted to play golf. I have not played golf for a long time.

The day before playing golf, I practiced golf. The more I practiced golf, the more difficult I felt golf was. I was really anxious that I could not play golf well.

That day it was fine weather, and I could enjoy playing golf. My score was 116. Although this result could not be awesome, I was satisfied with it.

I want to go playing golf again, and I asked my colleague to invite me play golf.

When You Order in a Diner, Do You Say, “Waiter?”

In text books, when you order in a diner, you should say, “waiter,” but my Chinese teacher of an internet lesson said that he didn’t say the word “waiter.”

He said that he used the words “hello” or “excuse me.” When he heard a little child yield, “waiter” in a restraint, he felt that their parent didn’t disciple their child. When I took a trip to China thirty years ago, it was usual for Chinese people to say, “waiter.” Nowadays, saying “waiter” isn’t unpolite but rude, is it?

Sometime I heard an old Japanese man say, “おねえさん.” “おねえさん” means “小姐” in Chinese. I myself never use “おねえさん.” I feel that saying “おねえさん” isn’t unpolite but rude. In China is saying “小姐” also rude?

Language is changing.

“Baseball Spring” Has Come

Cherry blossoms have already fallen, and thus the baseball season begins. This season is called “球春 (baseball spring)” in Japanese.

I am not very interested in Japanese baseball, but I really have been in love with the New York Yankees for more than twenty years.

These past several years Yankees fans have felt disappointed. There were full of old players who already had passed their peaks, and the result of the teams had been going down.

However, this year's Yankees is not the same at all. Old players retired, and many young players joined. I believe that their result must go up, and I am looking forward to seeing them playing with much vigor.

This “baseball spring” is full of hope.
